Light or heavy armor?
Getting this game in a couple of hours. Is this game more speedy and twitchy like Bloodbourne to where you are better off going for speed so you would use light or would heavy be more beneficial like in the souls series. For those playing right now what are your thoughts? Thank you.

Heavy is beneficial in souls? damn i played all of them wrong ;o) Light set gives you more stamina and atk-speed. Heavy gives you more attackpower (which means knockdown/-back ability i think. Dmg doesnt increase.) and stability (dmg doesnt interrupt your swings or you are harder to knockdown). I started with the light set and was satified. Captured a heavy set now and will report my impressions in some time.

I'd say: Don't worry about it. It doesn't reduce your dash or dodge distance or anything. Heavy looks badass and boosts damage, light armor reduces stamina consumption mostly.

Fck i played DS the wrong way.. i guess this is the reason the game seemed pretty hard at the beginning. Next time only heavy armor in ds ;)

Looks like a lot of you went light in Souls. I found Bloodbourne very easy because your character is so fast, that's why I'm asking about heavy and light in this game. Would it be an easier time to be twitchy and fast as apposed to hitting like a tank and being slow.

Hm, hard to tell. But i would say this game feels a bit faster than DS. Im not sure if it really matters that much which armor you chose. I think its too early to say which one is better.

Thank you for taking the time to test it for me though. I appreciate it.

the rhino armor seems like junk. The Scarab armor seems alright other than its ridiculous power requirements.

outside of that I haven't found any other heavy armor so far.

It matters. Using an entire set gives you bonuses, so depending on your playstile you should choose the right armor. The light starter armor gives attack speed bonus for example. It is useful if you fight against enemies that have only short openings (some bosses for example).

I'm playing at end of ng+, I'm core level 166.
After testing and boosting light, medium and heavy armor to level X.

As I can say, the armors are principaly used for the stat stability (low, med, high).
And resistance, endurance usage, etc for the other stats.

heavy armor must be principaly used to do a full combo without getting interrupted/stunned by a mob counter attack, because of high stability. Warning you continue to be hitted and losing health while you do a combo.

I think you lose less health when you get hitted while you are executing you combo and get hit in same time. The principal advantage of heavy armor is the stability.

You can also do a full combo with light and medium, but you can be countered, stunned and dropped in this case. More in light, the medium is at middle of two.

Light armor is more for parrying and counter attack, totaly not for full series of combos like heavy because of his low stability. You can always do a serie of combo, but as high risk, you must see physicaly what you opponent are ready to do before starting you next attack. Idealy, light armor must be used to parry and counter mode.

Medium is the middle of the two.

For me the best survival armor is the light. You can parry quantity of mob and boss attacks. Parrying can charge your energy also with the cinetic converter implant. You use less endurance with bonus armor and you can use the gyro stabilize to use more less endurance while you countering.

Vs a boss, light is also the best armor for the same reasons. Sure you have less survivability stats, but just because you're not fighting a boss with infinite series of combo, you dont need to have a high stability. You must parry boss attack. Except many you cannot that you must esquive.
