range weapons?

please tell me there are ranged weapons besides the drone. ive seen enemys carrying ranged weapons and some other cool stuff, hopefully we can cut them off an build them

Yes but still only drones for you. Rember this was are workplace. So people didn't have guns there.

those enemies are the security enforcers on the compound. Makes sense they carry around gas grenades and heavy ranged weaponry.

I find it funny that the game is futuristic but there are no ranged weapons is there any lore explanation or it's just because they want a souls experience? All the action rpg tend to be based on the medieval ages because then there's a reason for melee i mean swords, axe, shields, katana, with the ocassionally bows or crossbow, ex: Dark souls, Lords of the fallen, Nioh, and Bloodborne was the one that deviated a little bit by adding more ranged weapons, so what's the excuse of this game that it's supposed to be futuristic? people in the future should go around with plasma rifles and laser shotguns not revert to big slow melee weapons that's just silly

Dark Souls and the other games only get away with it because its slow bows etc. ... putting in plasma rifles and laser shotguns is hard without turning it into an third person shooter

Because the devs choose the mechanic of the game?

They don't want a third person shooter, they want a melee focused Action RPG. Nier Automata is also a sci-fi game and you get swords and a pod, deal with it.
