Metamorphing Talons vs Firebug Throttle 2.0

Any reason to use the talons over the Throttle? I can't see a reason, given how stupid strong the throttle is. xD

The talons have a higher damage, by 1 point, and *might* be faster. I never tried using the Firebug-2 after getting the talons. I finished the game using the Metamorphing Talons and Chysalis armor.

On NG+ now, and using Claws of Gestalt.

Do the talons just -not- gain energy? They appear to have no energy gain, according to the stats.

I never had an issue with them. Once I got the security rig, I farmed the talons and chrysalis armor and then played the rest of the game using that set. It worked really well for me and the speed of the talons + the healing factor of the armor made a very aggressive playstyle more rewarding. I still had to peak around corners to not Leeroy Jenkins myself, but aside from getting lost in the launch pad area A LOT, I found that set up just perfect.

The claws, on the other hand, do stupid damage and are slower... but they are just so OP.

Every weapon gains the base 100% energy. The energy gain stat is just a bonus.
Personally I like that these both weapons are so similar statwise, this way you can choose them by the look that you prefer.

Doesn't the Claws have a higher proficiency scaling? That would make them better than Firebug Throttle.

Keep in mind that Thrust damage is NOT taken into account for display purposes (i.e the "Damage" number does not take it into account).

Now I don't like Twin Rigged, but it could perhaps be that the Talons have much higher Thrust damage than Firebug?

I actually got this on ng++ as I had no idea before, in fact I got it from the non respawning mob. I already had Talons maxed out, and wanting to lvl up a different weapon each cycle, so I've yet to actually sport them, but yeah they look dope
