BUG: The one Smelting Machine in Recycling always self-dies?

Not sure what causes it, but both in NG+ and now in NG++ this particular Smelting Machine has been missing and simply leaving it's coin to be gotten for free.

I've no idea what kills it - sure as hell aint me, lol.

i hope thats somehow intended, n we find out what triggers this.

i'm on a lv 10 run right now, n could fight sister next, but i realy want these 5 coins befor progressing any further.
well, no idea how to survive that toxic area, since i dont have the corepower for liquidater armor, heals n decent health.^^

maybe you just have to be in the area for a certain among of time? does the toxic waste kill it?!^^

There's no toxic waste nearby this particular Smelter.

Plus, the location of the one in the third area makes it clear that they don't take damage from it (it is literally taking a bath in the toxic goo, lol).

Could it be one of the console up top that change the layout somehow killing it? I also had the same situation happens to me and both were alive previously when I first entered this room.

I doubt it. The coin indicates that it died in the default position. Switching the panel makes it move from that spot. But who knows?

oh that one no, it simply never droped down there. there is an overcharge for the 2nd one. not sure which one it was but pretty early on, you can see it bin send downwards

This makes so much more sense. I gave the staff to her long before finding the smelters, and the second one was never there for me. I never even knew there was supposed to be two there, but I did get two coins after defeating the one that was there. Never knew why and I thought the game bugged and just gave me an extra for free.

You can ask her for her plan when you gave her the staff and she says "Never liked those smelter bots etc." :)

I... don't think that is true. My first playthrough I did Irina correctly the whole way. I gave her an MG staff, and when I got to the smeltery there were still 2 of them.

I didn't engage them right away. I instead take any path that looks like a side path to look for shortcuts or extra gear. So I ended up taking the back way to the smelter control room where I played with the two buttons a bit to find out what happened. I toggled both of them at least 3 times, before leaving the "smelter bot assignment" setting where it was (pressed it an even number of times). By the time I got up the courage to take the elevator (which ended uptaking me down there) both robots were still there, and alive.

On NG+, I gave Irina the same staff, went through the smeltery to get to the control room, and there was only one smelter machine. I think I picked up the coin without noticing, because I ended up with 3 by the time I got to the one in the acid pool...

Long story short, I gave Irina a staff twice, and only one time was the smelter dead already.

Are you sure you gave her the staff before going in this room in your first playthrough ? Maybe you went to the room before you gave her the staff, and this is why you saw two enemies

Idk, maybe there was a trigger that causes her to kill it, or maybe enough time has to pass. I think it's just conjecture that she kills it because there was no other explanation, but it kinda made sense. Could be that it's actually bugged, but at least it's not game breaking.

Not sure about the first time. I'd not realized there was a secuirty guard down the stairs below her until quite a while (I was just happy to be able to kill the two up by ops that I didn't try for their weapons), so I was glad she was still around. I suppose it is possible I'd gone to the smeltery already, killed them, then came back and got an MG staff for Irina.

Maybe that is why there was only one guard on the lower platform my first playthrough.....
