Who the hell is Benjamin Burke?
So as you get into Central Production B and progress through the area, some guy comes on the loud speaker a few times and says a few things. He mentions he will be waiting at the outbound train station, and that he doesn't want to let his team down and he will keep waiting. Then he leaves anyways. Maybe is missed something, but i haven't found anything else on him

Neither have I. He simply vanishes at that point, too.

As im starting my third playthrough, im surprised im still playing it, but there are so many story elements that im questioning, things that aren't completely explained and i expected some alternate ending to explain or something i missed to explain it. But no, i have no idea who Burke is, what the hell is the deal with Mallory Stark, why is her story exactly the same as yours, and exactly what happened to her after she told Sally to ♥♥♥♥ off. That ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bloodstain on NG+...

I wonder if they have plans for this game still...

To me, Mallory's story seems pretty self-explanatory:

Sally needs puppets to do her bidding, so she causes the surgery for people to be botched in order for them not to get connected to the Neural Network and become infected with the Nantites/Rogue Process. She then tries to manipulate all of them to get her access to the Board Room (Mallory mentions meeting at least one other person who is also going for the Board Room as her and Warren). Mallory eventually gives up and Sally callously discards her..

I also assumed that the surgery was botched on purpose after getting through the game, but this is strange to me, it seems to imply that Warren, Mallory and others were brought in recently, while the events inside creo were all going on. When you start the game and first arrive I found the gaurds in an otherwise empty station to be unusual, and it was strange that you were the only new hire. You then go to the surgery scene, from there is skips to the start of the game. Is the passage of time really that short?

I've also been questioning sallys statement in the boardroom, after the last guy kicks the bucket she says "I brought you back." She says it while looking at the guy who just passed, but her visual hologram does all sorts of buggy ♥♥♥♥. You never see her after that do you... Was that to Warren, he was the first to make it up that far. Warren was perhaps dragged into this just to be used as a tool by Sally.

Or has he been there a while, when Doctor Frankenstein (Cant remember his name) sees you the first few times, He calls you Inspector and talks to you as if thats your job... First time around i thought he was being a sarcastic ♥♥♥♥, but thats just how he talks in all his dialog. Is there anything else about Warrens job at CREO out there? Its a bit thin but could Warren have been working at CREO for a while before this happened, gotten into the Inspection Department (very real deparment in factory/lab work) but all his memory was purged as a part of The Surge. The way a few other characters talk to you almost implied they knew him, or knew of him at least.

Damn RDJ i completely forgot i made this thread. He shows up in the second game (which i cant recommend over the first game) and i felt like his story doesnt progress at all. That might be part of why im curious about him, hes just some random guy mixed up in all this nonsense much like Warren.

Awe damn, I'm saving up for the second one but I've been wondering if it's worth it. why can't games like this ever develope a proper narrative on side characters.

The second one isnt worth it, lots of reused assets and it had worse performance for me. The story is wacky and it lost what charm it had if you ask me.

The second game got me into the first one. I hadn't finished 2 yet, just heavily engrossed in 1. I thought it was really messed up at the prologue, how you go to get a job at this place and if your surgery is botched, they throw you out with the garbage. That scene really stuck with me.

En1gma Jun 23, 2024 @ 8:08pm
