Accidentally hit one of the NPCs

I accidentally hit the guy you find trapped in the room early in the game while trying out a weapon, hes now gone whenever i go back

Is there any way to bring him back? i didnt kill him

He should be inside your last Operations, the first two NPCs you encounter (Davey and Hobbs) will go back to your Operations. The third one, Irina, will no but she will eventually proceed to her next quest stage and leave the spot you met her initially.

The accident happened to me several times (ok it was only an accident for the first time, afterwards it was Science!) and it seems like beating the living crap out of them doesn't affect anything.

EDIT: You might to reload the area by resting at the medbay, going back to the first area or simply quiting to main menu and reloading your save.

hes left the operations though, it all happened there, i didnt know he was there i just tested out my new wep ;-;

Hrm, never tried to beat them inside the Ops, I see some more Science! incoming.

Unfortunately in this case it seems like you might have 'lost' this NPC :-/
