Can you only get 12 nano cores per NG?
After I reached 12 which is enough for a full set of armour and a weapon, after opeing another power conduit, it was empty, they make it so you can only upgrade 1 of each per NG?

I can't follow what you're asking. Also for nano core locations, its first area, then the 2nd with 3 spots, then the executive with 1, right? or is there more spots. I'm guessing i'm missing one if its 12.

i have 14. but i spent them right before the final boss. 1 more for a second weapon would be great, but i explored everything multiple times

Whatever you do, don't make the same mistake I did: Do not save them for NG+.

They will vanish from your inventory upon entering NG+! So be sure to use them before the final boss - there's no reason not to.

Hah, I've moved on to NG+ as mentioned. I don't remember all of them. But when you see an odd Power Circuit somewhere that needs, like, 50+ Core Power to activate you can be sure there is Nano Cores inside.

I do remember that the very first one is located at the very first tiny factory area (where you first encounter the LYNX enemies). Y'know, near the first entrance to the dark basement area?

I think you're missing a point here. The Nano cores are a softcap on item upgrades per New Game Cycle.

In Regular NG you can't upgrade over MK.V, My Imperator v.2 was upgraded to MK.V before Rogue Process but all of my gear stayed at MK IV Because i didnt't know if i wanted to upgrade it or save for another.

However both my gear at MK.IV and my Weapon at MK.V upgrade straight to MK.VI in NG+, Meaning MK.V is ignored in NG+ as it is only set as a cap used with Nano Cores in NG and thus doesn't matter in NG+.

Haven't checked up on the total upgrade cap since i just finished NG but that's my take at least.

TL;DR Nano cores are meant to make grinding to become straight up overpowered in a run less potent, When you've upgraded an item with nano cores it can't be upgraded more on that cycle.

I noticed one thing though: on NG+ you CAN'T directly upgrade a weapon/armor to it's softcap counterpart, you HAVE to upgrade it to the fourth rank first :/ .

I guess that makes sense even if it's a bit obnoxious. In the UI you can only see 4 MK's at a time (MK.I - Mk.IV and MK.VI to MK.IX). MK.X and MK.V are probably just an extra for the current game cycle.

Overall i think its well balanced for how the game plays. Since you can't really farm Mats for much higher than you currently are in the game its not really an issue unless you try to upgrade a fresh weapon to higher ranks.

More or less. I'ts just that I find a bit stupid that mobs one shot you with your current armor already upgraded to it's last rank available and 300+ health points :/ . If that happens on NG+, then from NG++ onward they will ALWAYS kill you with one hit.
