Zidane never protects Quina with Protect Girls. Quina can't equip any of the female-exclusive equipment (except Lamia's Tiara). Quina is affected by "Entice," just like the male characters are.

Zidane doesn't protect Quina because he doesn't know if Quina is a girl; he refers to Quina as s/he throughout the game.

The fact that Quina can still equip Lamia's Tiara makes this point moot. Being able to equip all of the female-exclusive gear would confirm Quina as female, since there is no male-exclusive gear (I think?).

Only males are affected by entice - the implication being that everyone is straight (which I won't argue - it's a game). Thus, Quina is male. Vivi is also affected by entice and, by the above logic, male. Why, then, does Quina seem genuinely happy to marry Vivi?

While the points you've made do nothing to elucidate the sex of the enigma that is Quina Quen, your powers of observation did manage to sweep away some of the mist shrouding our favorite gourmand. I think of Quina's gender in the same way as the Pyro's gender from TF2: I don't know and I think it's better that way. The ambiguity is half the fun!
