if you have problems on a boss just level a bit or change your strategie.
I have a hunch it's due to the series having basically the same battle system from IV to IX. FFIX has a few enemy abilities with a chance to one shot your entire party if you're unlucky if you aren't over-leveled, before you can take a single turn for a couple of the late game story bosses. The game is way harsher when it comes to reviving party members too. Tents won't do it, and zombie will prevent resurrection until it is cured first, for example.
always thought the psx titles were too easy.
