Is this the remastered version?
I played the remastered version on PS4, is this the remastered version or is it just the old PC port of the game? I ask this because I see "Final fantasy 8 REMASTERED" but not the one from 9 so I don't know if it is a situation in which they simply replaced the steam version with the remaster or I don't know.

It has minor visual improvements (e.g., more defined background), but it's not the og hd/remaster version

Why do they only have the remastered version on PS4? but the one from FF8 is on PC? that's bizarre.

This is the same as the PS4 version, its the one that has those annoying bars on the sides. Thankfully on PC you can just remove them with mods.

FF8 is the only game that has a "REMASTERED" version, all the others go by the original name. There's no "remaster" for FF9.

Oh ok, good to know, thats its confusing. tnx. Now i can just buy it. I don't know why they do that, leaving only 8 with the title "remastered" is confusing xd.

Can confirm with 100% certainty that it's the same version available on PS4 and Android. For some reason they only put the term "remastered" on FF VIII, but IX never had a PC version to begin with. Only 7 and 8.
