FFVIII Remastered is based on the ancient PC version. There may or may not be a mod for that to restore the analog movement because the PC version never had it. For FFIX, the underlying game is still the PlayStation version with emulation hijinks and other stuff happening (I think).
I had to use an Xbox controller.
Having said that, it does state in the moguri mod that there are known controller issues.
Why cant people understand this. Microsoft and Sony are in direct competition with each other. Do you think Sony would ever allow Xbox controllers to work on a playstation? VERY unlikely.
So why do people expect the reverse?
This is bunk. Windows detects DualSense and DualShock 4 controllers perfectly, and as of the last year (and with the firmware of the DualSense updated) the drivers included in Windows even support the advanced haptics of the DualSense over Bluetooth. It is up to developers to properly use this.
Microsoft does not and never has blocked Sony from releasing proper Windows drivers for their stuff. The years-long issues in Windows were entirely Sony's fault.
I don't use BT though, have it wired via USB.
Pretty much plug in and play for me.
You need KB for first input into the game.
You can use a PS5 controller for the rest of the game.
If you use mods you can kiss PS support outta the water without DS4Windows.
