Save File Location

I was wondering if anyone has figured out where the save files are located on the computer. I've been searching through numerous files for like an hour with no luck. I know in FF7 and 8 the files can be found in the documents, square enix, and the respective game folders, but there is nothing of the sort for this one so far as far as I can tell.

All I found is the Cloud Save from C: Documents, Square Enix, Final Fantasy IX....

Just did a hunt for it myself, and the only save I can find is the cloud save. I can't even find it in Steam's userdata (Game ID #377840)

Might be embedded in some of the Unity files located in FF9's data files.

I guess its 1 Slot for all the saves...They could at least seperate it.

Yup. C:\Users\USERNAME\appdata\LocalLow\SquareEnix\Final Fantasy IX\Steam\EncryptedSavedData

Downside: You can't delete a single save, you'd have to delete the whole lot, or overwrite... Unless you figure out how to decrypt it. :P

Same as how Final Fantasy XIV Files are. All encrypted and cant be edited since they are all DAT., BK, INDEX and FIIN files. Even the music and video files are encrypted. Its no wonder there is no Private server.

i accidentally created another save file while playing, so what i did was load the game first. and then you go to C:\users\%username%\AppData\LocalLow\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY IX\Steam\EncryptedSavedData\. you should see "SavedData_ww". make sure you back it up somewhere, by copying. and delete "SavedData_ww" from the "EncryptedSavedData" folder. and go back to ff9 and try save again, supposedly there is no save file if you delete "SavedData_ww" from the "EncryptedSavedData" folder. thats how i created a single save file.
