The cutscenes are extremely choppy for me
I started playing the game today, and nearly all of the cutscenes stutter or halt completely while I'm watching them (The video, not the audio). Is there something I'm supposed to configure to fix this issue?

Processor: AMD A10-4600M APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics 2.30 GHz
AMD Radeon HD 7660G Driver Version: 13.152.1.1000
Installed memory (RAM): 8.00 GB (7.46 GB usable)

Windows 8.1

How would I verify the integrity of the game cache files?

Here's a link to the latest version: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop/legacy?product=legacy3&os=Windows%208.1%20-%2064

I just updated the AMD driver and checked the integrity of the game cache files. I went to go to test it out (Specifically the scene after the first save point) and I'm STILL having laggy cutscenes

I do notice a bit of chop as well, Radeon R9 280 Twin Frozr, recently updated, but only occasionally a bit of chop/slow down on battle animation or CG, comes in small spurts.

Might just be the game?

I, too, have a similar problem. My specs are significantly lower (256MB GPU, 4GB RAM, Dual-Core 2.50GHz, 64-Bit Windows 7), but it doesn't do it often. Usually it happens when a browser is open on a website which uses a buttload of Javascript/HTML5 features.

Is it inconsistently choppy, or just generally unsmooth looking? Because the FMVs only run at 15fps, so they will already look less smooth than the gameplay, which is 30fps.

i think the FMV is just 15 fps anyway, so its not hardware problem...
Mallow_VT Apr 17, 2016 @ 8:11pm
Nah, sometimes the FMVs freeze in place or skip frames. Sometimes opening the "Skip Cutscene" window, which usually pauses the FMV, will still play the FMV. This is partially down to hardware struggling (CPU or GPU). That, and 720p/1080p movies don't run well on some older model computers. :P

The gameplay is fine, just the cutscenes are choppy

I'm noticing this in a stream I'm watching, too. Not sure what the problem is, or if it's known but there's a fix. Came here hoping to find a resolution!

make sure fast forward is not on

they have been smooth for me for the most part, but yes i have noticed choppiness on quite a few cutscenes - tbh they were pretty choppy on the ps1 too, so i guess thats one way to know its a good port :D

Could this be an AMD graphics card/driver issue? The reason I ask is that the people who have mentioned the problem and the graphics card they use have all said it's an AMD graphics card. I use an Nvidia graphics card and I don't have the issue. Anyone with an Nvidia graphics card having similar problems?

Not universal for AMD users if so, as they run smooth for me.
