$20 Price tag!?

Saw this game yesterday and almost hit the buy button with a reflex that would have shattered space and time. Then I saw the non sale price of $20.99. A rather odd price point for any game since most would prefer a multiple of 5, but that's beside the point.

Why does this game cost so much compared to all the other Final Fantasy games on steam? I have 3, 4, 7, and 8 already and I paid less than $15 for each of them. What makes 9 so special that it needs to be priced so high?

they updated the character design and the FMV

They updated the UI, character models, and the FMV's look really nice and smooth, and there is mouse and keyboard support. They also added boosts like speading up the game, maxing out abilities, max level and master stones, and max gil, etc. There is also now added modding support with the PC release. A nice added bonus. To me that is worth it. Might not be for you.

i got the game on the launch sales but its still worth the extra 5.

Yes I have a problem hoarding games. I'll probably still wind up buying ff9 despite the massive library of games I already have that I don't play. I'm an addict thanks to steam sales and humble bundle.

You say that you would have hit the buy button with a reflex that would shatter space and time. Does that mean you enjoy the game? If so, then why is $20.99 too high? It's a buck more than you would have paid to buy the Greatest Hits version on PS1. It would be worth it to me as a great game with updated character models, menus, and the boosters. Not to mention the soundtrack is absolutely amazing.
