Did they mess with the translation?
I only played a small bit but something's been nagging at the back of my mind. It feels like they messed with the text, at least early on in the game. Like they tried to correct some parts of the text that didn't need correcting.

For one the little girl Vivi bumps into at the very start now says "You dropped your ticket" instead of "You dwopped your ticket." I never really seen that as a spelling error in the original but a deliberate choice to put emphasis on the girl as being young and innocent, to add to her character.

Am I remembering things wrong or have they actually changed the text?

I noticed the exact same thing. It seems like the moogles now speak in broken English, too. Maybe that's just Monty, though. I don't know. They messed with the script for sure, though.

Oh god, please don't tell me they rewrote any serious dialog and replaced it with memes or SJW ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ or something...

They altered some dialog. Hoping someone mods that back to the original along with the proper font as well.

no its the same as the original word for word trust me played the original game about 5 times

Check the names of the trading cards for FFIX.

Looks like they changed a bit more than dialogue.

Didn't they need to remake the game from the ground up? I could be wrong, but I could've sworn they mentioned something about that. Might explain the dialogue differences :c.

It's a bit disappointing. The original game was translated perfectly so why change it? It's not as if it's Final Fantasy 7 where there were some serious translation errors. And yeah, the font is way off. Why change it? Make it easier to read on mobile or something? :/
