FF9 + PS4 Controller.
Hey all.

Probably a dumb question but I was wondering if FF9 was compatible with the PS4 controller? I've tried setting it up but seem to be having issues getting it to work correctly and I have noticed the game gives me a warning that says it heavily relies on a Keyboard + Mouse whenever I plug in my controller...

If anyone has successfully gotten their PS4 controller to work would you mind passing on any tips to help me get mine working too? :)

Thanks!

Edit:
Just wanted to update you guys. DS4Windows works perfectly and now my PS4 Controlller is working with FF9. Hooray!!
All I did was what some others mentioned. Started DS4Windows without my controller plugged in, then started FF9 and then when I got to the main menu I plugged in my PS4 controller. Perfect!

Nope not yet, I tried PS4, and Xbox One, and no such luck, kinda disappointing honestly, but I guess i'll have to use the Keyboard.

Ahh damn that's kind of annoying :( Hopefully Steam will fix it. I guess it's a keyboard and mouse for me for now.

I am using a PS4 controller right now with DS4Windows, it works fine. You need to have the controller unplugged, start the game then plug it in for it to work perfectly otherwise your character will constantly run off to the left or right side of the screen.

I believe there is a patch for PS4 controllers as well.
The Nothing Man Apr 14, 2016 @ 3:18pm
so ps3 with ds3 works just fine but ps4 needs a patch controller wise?

i have ds3 and it works 99.99% of the time, its the offline ver not the malware version

but one thing you CANT do is plug it in AFTER the game starts or the game wont see the controller. you must plug it in before..
so does this mean ill walk off the side constantly?

Thanks man i was about to ragequit this thing haha it even uses the right controlls !

just try to get the offline version
then all you need is the driver.. and the "better ds3 tool" not the standard ds3 tool that has malware.

just heads up there.

anyone know if ds3 has this issue?
as again it wont see the controller unless its plugged in BEFORE the game launches..
if you plug it in after .. no games will see ds3 tool.

I tested my PS3 controller with scp driver for DS3 as well and that worked right away without needing a fix unlike DS4.

i dont use scp driver, its a bit rough

so far ive heard nothing about ds3 controller emu having the walking issue,
but again you cant plug the controller in AFTER the launch only before.
