Even back than irrc, it was more seen as a curiosity not many people even knew about and which even less saw useful.
I can see why some people may miss it no matter how limited it may've been, personally i don't miss it or care but still.
Still confused as to why it was a thing. Basically a way to piss someone off by not taking your 'Attack' turn.
It did however, respond to two controllers plugged in at the same time. So you could do multiplayer if you took turns when your characters came up. Local only, of course, because the game wasn't made in an age of online gaming on consoles.
You can still do that now, actually. This one actually reads any input you have plugged in, all at once. So you could have someone play on Keyboard, Mouse, Controllers, etc. You could technically do more than 2 people... I just lack the willing bodies... I mean slaves... I mean people to play with right now... to test that theory.
I wouldn't say very advanced multiplayer as essentially all you did was move control over a specific character in combat but it was still more engaging than just watching your friend play the whole game.
A shame the feature isn't there anymore.
