Chocograph Pieces Spawning

Greetings,

I was wondering what the rules are on these pieces spawning? I just finished collecting all Chocographs at the Lagoon on Disc 3 with the Ocean Chocobo and receive the message of no more Chocographs being there. I am currently at 4 Chocograph Pieces (1+2 at the forest, 1 at the Lagoon). Do I need to continue searching the Lagoon for Piece #5 or should I move on?

you already got the Hilda Grade 3? did you get the "Mist Ocean chocograph" yet?

Haven't progressed that far. Only just got the ship from Lindblum :D

a couple hot and cold place get bigger when you get better chocobos.

I think you could not get more than 4 chocopieces until you get the Hilda Grade 3.

Seems logical to me because when 6 chocopieces makes the chocograph you that unlock flying chocobo and it give you access to places that you should not be at the moment (Dagerro)

A useful thing to keep track of this is Mene the moogle, he outright tells you
"Choco says he has found all the chocographs he can in this area for now"
The final chocograph peice in the lagoon however has been artificially cut off from access in the PC version due to a well known glitch that let you get the gold chocobo before the airship and cause all kinds of havok and bugs :P

Mene will still tell you Choco can't find anymore in that area both after you find the last one and each time you ask him to play Hot & Cold, so keep checking both lagoon and forest until Mene says that in both of them, after that you must get the airship to find the rest of the lagoon graphs.

The two remaining Chocograph Pieces to complete the Gold Chocobo chocograph are not available in Hot & Cold until you have access to Hilda Garde 3.

I had my suspicions, but I could not confirm that info anywhere in any guide! YOU'D THINK THAT'D BE IMPORTANT INFO IN AN "Everything about Chocobo Sidequesting" GUIDE!
