Excalibur 2 timings
I'm not using the speed boost or no encounter, I don't want it to be too easy.

I just hit Esto Gaza (just before Gulug) at 9:12:10. Does anyone have experience getting Excalibur 2? Am I on track, or is it worth starting again?

Too slow. Play again.

Fair warning, there's a high chance of troll infestation here.

I sugest that you give a try anyway, since you already have the item using the mod.

Yeah I'm going to shoot to the end anyway, I've got a load of saves before segments I could probably do faster.

You're on track.

It'll be tight but you should come in with 10 minutes or so to spare. Just make sure you keep every save from here as tight as possible.

I'm in a bit of trouble with the save file right now, I basically have 2-3 minutes spare, and it's all being eaten by the "you're not alone" part. I think I might have to go back to an earlier save and tighten it up.

This is a lot harder than I thought it was going to be tbh

hey by the way is case this helps in my play back then i use to sell all my ethers and phoenix pinions and kill a few grand dragons using quina. and i use detect skill to escape from battles faster or randomly pres menu button so that you dont get random battles. Have fun!
Are you skipping cutscenes? Stutter stepping, even if it works the same as no encounter? Do you run from random battles or do you finish them? Is your button mashing on point for skipping dialogue? Are you going for a perfect save, or are you aiming solely for the sword?

It doesn't help that Excalibur II is almost at the end of Memoria. I used no encounter when I got mine, and played a regular game simultaneously, so I had the solution for small puzzles, such as the elevator in Pandemonium, fresh in my head. And I had 8 minutes to spare at the end.

If memory serves me, having at least 20 minutes to spare by the time you enter Memoria should be enough. I would aim for 30 if you're not doing anything to skip random encounters. Your time at Mount Gulug is pretty good so I'm confident you will get it.
