I hate tetra master
What do the numbers and letters on the cards mean, i have zero idea and when the game is finally about to explain it goes 'lol figure it out yourself' I have zero idea if my card will win battles or not and I'm sick of losing cards to insanely powerful decks.

One is offense and one is defense but then they are randomized to a point, or something. There is a guide however uploaded on Steam.

Tetra master is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ RNG game. Too random to be any fun.

Theres notes on the wall in the Dali weapon shop as well that slowly explain more and more of the card game as you progress through the story.

I like Triple Triad waaaaaay more than this... I don't even have a name for this "game". TT has a set of rules everyone can understand and follow. Powerful cards beat weak cards, the powerful cards are rare and do have weakeness, if you want to get the most powerful cards you better get first the less powerful ones at the beginning of the game and learn to use them, and a 5 will NEVER beat a 9. TM forgets those simple rules and just makes others up. That is why I barely play it.

tbh Tetra Master is only random if you're facing, say, 0P00 against another 0P00. Otherwise, it's just attack power vs defense and what kind of card it is. (Magic? Physical? Flexible?) It takes a lot of placement strategy-- probably moreso than Triple Triad, and in my honest opinion it's really not that bad a game and receives more flack than it deserves.

I enjoy it at least.

But it IS random. It literally generates random numbers that determine the winner in a card battle. Your cards numbers are just one factor that influence the outcome.

Never seemed that way to me.

Well, it doesn't matter what it seemed like to you. This is a fact.

I like Tetra Master. I hate the rng that comes with it.

We would have such a wonderful card game if cards' power worked like TT. I've seen cards with 5 attack lose to cards with 0 defense and I will never understand the reasoning behind this.

No, I get what you mean. But there's more to take into account.

It is not so 'random' as it is complex. There's more to the numbers than meets the eye. And while I agree that some aspects are, in fact, random, it is not in its entirety random and you can win a game through sheer strategy and understanding the cards well.

Lol. IT'S SIGNIFICANTLY RANDOM. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NimF-_ESmkU

But yeah, you're right: it's not completely random, but it's random enough to be stupid. They should've just based it on reliable rules like triple triad, not RNG.

(yes, these scrubs can't play the game in the video, thinking the B is used for attacking with the cactuar, but still it demonstrates some of the bs)

I think all the card games in rpgs are rather pointless. If I wanted to play a cardgame for hours, I would play a cardgame! The same goes for all those minigames that take way to much time. Yeah all those games are fun once, twice or even mutliple times if they are fun and worth it. But I hate those minigames I have to grind over and over and over, to finally get a worthwhile reward. Chocobo-Racing, Triple Triad, Chocobo-Hot-or-Cold, Blitzball etc. etc.

Its just not what I want from an RPG - it might be a nice diversion but if it shaves of hours of playtime, its not a minigame anymore.

Naturally some games are worse than others. Tetra Master is one of the better minigames because there is no real reason to play it beyond those 3 matches you have to play storywise.

Yeah, the B thing was pretty dumb. He would have done better to put the mime down because
1) M weighs better chances against P than another P does (and last I checked P vs P was the diciest ♥♥♥♥...)
2) sand scorpion had no magic defense.

It's always good to have 2 M's, 2 P's and, if you can help it, 1 X in your hand. That way you'll be ready for some major ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
Also, each card has its own hidden value called 'luck'. Stupid, I know, but it's actually kind of amusing for me. Frogs, of course, have really high luck as opposed to any normal-ass monster card, like the Dragonfly. Oglops and ribbons too.
