Anyone has been successful at stealing the fairy flute?
I have been trying for some time now.. I have reset multiple times ( in case it reset RNG), bandit is activated and I even tried it with the 9999 booster wich I heard it also give 100% steal rate but i had no luck at all... So anyone got it??

I got it after 1 hour stealing, its really hard something like 1/256 probability.

Yeah I've gotten one after quite a while, I takes a long time, the 9999 booster increasing steal rate is a total hoax, it doesn't do anything but give you 9999 dmg lol. Just keep trying if you really want it, you get it easily in disk 3 anyway

Set cursor to memory, Kill everyone except Zidane, press F2, select Steal, press F1, press "confirm" until you have it.

Yeah that is exactly what I will be doing. Those 1/256 steal rate are insane. I am just going to buy the damn flute later

I got it on my current playthrough and it took me about 5 minutes of spamming steal. :steammocking:

stop stealing right now, you'll live, go buy some extra remedies and softs, make it through the Iifa Tree, and when the time comes get the Fairy Flute in the store.
END.

Yeah no. It's irrelevant when you can buy it, the whole point of a perfect steal run is to get every item you can via steals.

raise zidane spirit stat with the equipment you have and equipt abilities that help stealing... put everyone on defend mode and keep stealing,

spirit has nothing to do with stealing, the 4 items are at fixed rates. The rare items are 1/256, Master Thief raises this to 32/256 or 1/8

That's stupid. "A perfect steal run" what a ridiculous thing to to do!

Haven't you ever heard of challenge runs? This isn't uncommon you silly sausage.

Spirit does help Zidane's stealing. Clearly. The more I raise his spirit the better chances he had to steal. And sometimes the better items. This is without Master Thief.

This may be what you percieved thanks to rng, but the steal rates are fixed
Scarlet Crusade Apr 22, 2016 @ 6:06pm
Steal rates are fixed, yes, but steal chances are tied to spirit. You have a better chance of succeeding in your steal if your spirit is higher. The item you get is still determined by RNG.

Spirit can be ignored if you have equipped the Bandit ability, though, this makes the chance of steal always 100%. You can still fail a steal if RNG lands on an item that you've already stolen, but you will succeed at getting a chance at getting an item all the time if Bandit is equipped.

And then there's Master Thief, which raises both 1/256 and and 16/256 to 32/256 and will ignore empty slots. So if you have both Bandit and Master Thief equipped, you will get an item, every time, and will only fail when there are no longer any items to steal.

The problem before master thief is the fact that whilst you have a 100% chance to steal with Bandit, a lot of bosses have empty slots from the get go, meaning the steal rate can still be ♥♥♥♥♥♥.

i have the original mini book that came with my ps1 case and it says that spirit is like luck in this game, it raise your trance guage faster and raise chance for critical hits and stealing, im not making it up read the manual and see for yourself...

Well. I double checked mine and you are not incorrect[i.imgur.com]... But even so I imagine the affect is negligible
