I did have it equipped, thanks! I always thought it was like a FF8 where it just further increased damage no matter the summon length
Yeah! Why have anything of the game at all! Why not just have fights consists of numbers being shown in the most efficient and quick way possible!
I thoroughly enjoyed the cutscenes, but when I'm grinding etc, I'd love to quickly use my summons without applying any boosters. After 5-10 times watching the same summon animation, I'd like to disable it whenever I wish. I have nothing against the summon animations its just a minor annoyance.
You could just use more efficient things, like Limit Glove.
I see I miss understood you. There's just this trend among people to complain about the long sequences. I don't usually grind so I suppose I don't notice them as much.
However the speed booster is probably good to fast-forward through the animations.
Limit Glove is a pain in the ass because of two reasons:
1) You need to use Quina, who might not be the character you want to level.
2)You have to keep Quina at 1 HP for the ability to work. Which means is a bit of an up-keep with auto-life and Mantra Magic all that stuff. The whole time the enemy can just knock you out and then you have to rivive and try to set it up again...
Unless the RNG is veru benign one could probably defeat the enemy with completely powered-up summons and/or normal attacks in the same amount of time.
Particularly Shiva is very efficient when it comes to her MP cost/animation lenght-damage ratio, if you power her up by hoarding/synthesizing opals.
One of the cheesiest setups in the game. (Unless one or more of your teammates has Zombie status, in which case, don't do it!)
I agree here, when you're grinding u just dont want to see those cutscenes. The battle system is already slow as it is, even the basic atk animation is longer than most ff games. There isnt a direct fix to it, but what I usually do when im grinding for long hours is whenever I have a spellcaster in the party to grind out, I try to mix them up with heavy hitters so I dont have to rely on the spellcaster's longer animations to output the dmg I need to kill the monster.
For example when grinding on grand dragons they have about 13k hp. I know my physical chars can each hit at least 5k dmg with a basic atk so I put in 1 spell caster and the rest physical and just go on atuto pilot on atk cmd. The amt of time that 3 char atk with their atk cmd is still shorter than 1 summon, heck it is even shorter than casting one spell in general.
That would require me to pay attention and select cmds. End game grinding isn't exactly the most fun in any ff game imo, but I do it because I like to try to get as close to a perfect game as possible. With atk cmd i can just spam 1 button and hold the joystick in 1 direction and grind while I watch something else on my other monitor.
You're definitely new to the Final Fantasy series.
