Battle: 20-15 ish
Field: 60
FMV: 15
As far as I know they can't make it run faster because of the way the engine is programmed in the original.
It's a shame that we can't get 60 at least in the field.
Field areas: 30
Battle: 15 (animations, the ui runs 30 I believe)
FMV: 15
World Map: 15
Just for clarification.
They supposedly rewrote the code in unity which means animations/clocks etc would not be bound to framerate like the original which was party because of the lack of performance and partly of a lack of hardware in the ps1.
However I suspect that was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ anyway. As a bunch of ps1 related bugs and issues are still present.
and again every other ff has mods for speed fps boost but this one cant for some reason due to the core
another ff game had the same issue the fps mod did fix the battle up from 15 to 25. but couldnt go higher or it resulted in raising the fps of the entire game,
which isnt good trust that ..
but still in 2016, an old game yes but a new port should be ughh
nm
that woulda destroyed the ps1 chug chug chuggg rendering error buzz buzz
poly ahhhh destroy reset boom
Main menu: 60
Field: 30
Battles: 30
FMV: 15
World Map: 20
sticks around 15 though not 20.
if you look straight down, more so
and im calling bs on the battle, no solid 30 fps lies.. lol
use fraps not steams overlay fps counter, get something that works (not much from valve/steam does)
im assuming sefie means bpm but im not sure either.
give or take though thats about right
field usually means map but im thinking he means walking round town etc..
World Map's FPS does indeed wobble. It's mostly around 19-20 for me, occasionally reaching 21.
Both counters show about 30 FPS for battles for me, here's a screenshot: https://www.dropbox.com/s/sa0wv2vo1mjd9rz/FFIX%20battle%20FPS.png?dl=0 The small white number on top-left corner (the one that says "28 FPS") is the Steam's own counter, and the bigger yellow number (the one that says 29) is Fraps' counter.
With fields, I meant dungeons, towns and other areas different from battles and world map, sorry for the confusion. :)
its give or take right on the money though my thoughts on the battle fps wellll
lol
im trying the custom x2 mod file out later, shrug
thanks for the double check info
least something steam makes works (hence why im not going for vr yet nor the steam os and controller. though prolly works better than an xbox one at this point (in games like such)
Using Fraps :
main menu 60fps
Full Motion Videos 15fps
exploring world field 20fps
exploring town 30fps
battles 30fps
battle reward screen 60fps
tetramaster game (cards) 60fps
