How to fix PS4 and PS5 controllers with Moguri Mod(8.3.0).

I read that many people like me faced the same problems trying to use PS controllers.

Here's how I fixed it:

1) Install DS4Windows. This software makes the DS4 and the DualSense controllers compatible with all the sofwares that are not natively compatible with them. Using it your PS controller will be detected by Windows as a Xbox controller.

2) Steam => Settings => In-game => UNMARK "Enable Steam Overlay while in-game"

3) Steam => Settings => Controller => General Controller Settings => Mark only "Playstation Configuration Support"
Note: Using DS4Windows you should see Xbox 360 Controller As "Detected Controller"

4) Change the in-game Button Icons to the Playstation ones using this mod:

5) In the Moguri-Mod Launcher MARK "Fix Steam Overlay".
Note: Read carefully the message that appears when you mark it.

6) In game set Controller Configuration to Normal

i dont understand any of these problems with playing ff games on steam, maybe im just an idiot getting lucky , i just plug my ps4 controller using my ps4 charger cable , disable steam overlay an it works no dramas

Do you have the moguri mod installed at the version 8.3.0?

I was able to fix my PS5 controller by doing the following:

1) In the Moguri-Mod Launcher MARK "Fix Steam Overlay".
Note: Read carefully the message that appears when you mark it.

2) Steam Overlay -> Controller Configuration. Then I selected the "Gamepad" configuration and it worked.

Maybe I was lucky, hope this helps someone.

This worked for me. Just need to remember to do what the warning message said to do if I ever uninstall the moguri mod. I don't remember what it said :)

clicking check box" fix steam overlay" worked and my ps4 controller worked instantly. THANK YOU

After I checked "Fix Steam Overlay", it all worked out, but the FPS started dropping. Anyone know how to fix this?
