Have I Accidentally Turned on Cheats?

Played this so many times on playstation but first time playing the steam version. In the section where you have 30 minutes to rescue Dagger, my characters all enter Trance, the Trance bar doesn't deplete when they take actions, phoenix down heals them completely from faint, they can act instantly without waiting for the ATB and they don't even take damage!! The only reason they even fainted in the first place was because of Doom.

I've watched other people stream this version with the Moguri mod (I'm not using it) and this didn't happen. Only difference is I fought the optional boss Tantarion in the library. Have I somehow turned on a cheat without realising somehow? What is going on?!

Yes, there is a cheat for "battle assistance" (there are some top corner icons where a cheat / booster is on)
