Thievery Question

In my game, I haven't learnt this skill yet, I know that sucessfull steals before you learn this skill helps to improve damage, but my question is, if I do learn this skill, can I still steal to raise it's damage or is the damage then fixed once I learn the skill?

It does raise after I get it, if I keep on stealing, not that far before I max it out either.

Yes, all steals (of ALL characters, not just Zidane) on this save count, before and after you get the skill.
Also, the damage formula is: Damage = [# of successful Steals * Zidane's Speed / 2]
So on Level 99 Zidane with base Speed (32) you need to Steal exactly 625 times to max its damage (9999).
