Definitely not. I'm using the Moguri 7.0.1 then the Beta v" patch on top and still getting Achievements.

Do we still need Moguri Mod to play on PC? I try to avoid too many add-ons to anything if possible. I read that without MM the game is unplayable.

Graphics are crap without it. New player too. Makes a huge difference on a big screen

Hmm if the game is still playable without a mod, I don't mind though. It can play fine without a mod, correct? That's all I really care about.

Yes, the game is fine without it.

It's a direct mobile port, which is why the backgrounds and characters look bad on a large screen.
All Moguri does is enhance the graphics. It changes nothing else.

@roughsleeper

how do i get Moguri 8.0 beta working with Scaled Battle UI? everytime i install both the game gives me a purple screen or the first scene in the airship looks completely ♥♥♥♥♥♥

do i have to install the base Moguri 7.0 then patch it with the beta? it said in the 8.0 readme that the base 7.0 is not needed

Probs an moguiri.ini problem.......I dont have a solution, sorry!
I never got BetaV2 to work WITHOUT first moguri 7.0.1

What I did:
After a complete deletion of the steam folder, I installed the base game, then moguri 7.0.1, tested the game to create the .ini file, then overwrote the BetaV2 required files MINUS the one mentioned in the install guide Assembly-CSharp, then tested the game again.

(EDIT -ALSO WORKING WITH BETA V3 - released today
Just overwrote new files except Assembly-CSharp
Loaded straight back into 1st Beatrix fight without issue!)

At this point i ended up saving a complete copy of all the files in a new folder as every UI mod broke the game for me too. Tried a few, but ended up using the saved folder files and am playing with the big UI. First time for FFIX anyway so not a prob for me.

All solutions linked to the moguri.ini file being set incorrectly - something to do with framerate, but none seemed flawless/fixed or also altered the speed of the game, and cutscenes.

Good luck!

Hello

On the official nigiri mod website they say that some cheats will diable achievements.
Does anyone know which one?

Or how to contact the team because I only saw one contact which is a twitter account with no activity for 2 years

Moguri changes a whole lot more than just graphics, which are the least of anyone's worries. The most important aspect of the mod is controls and responsiveness. FF9 is more or less unplayable without the Moguri mod.
Do yourselves a favor and install it please, you will enjoy the game so much more.
Have fun!
