Since tetra master is like 95% RNG, 5% skill/prep.
That's why it never really caught on, compared to Triple Triad from 8 which had it's own spin-off game and has shown up in a few other games.
Since it had actual rules and strategy and the only rng was what cards the enemy had (out of their possible deck) and where they placed them.
And no...you don't need do tetra master. if you screw up and lose completely, you just have to pay for what you need instead of getting it free, and miss out on the reward for winning the tournement (which isn't even unique, though might take awhile before you can make them, so winning it is a nice bonus).
And you win it the same way you win any game of Tetra master....you Pray to RNGesus and hope he is merciful today.
