The point over 1) is that the main point of the mod is the HD backgrounds. As said on the website 'The most important changes are in the background arts, that are now more detailled, clean & have an higher resolution.'
What are you hoping to get out of the mod, because there's probably another mod out there already doing that without the HD backtrounds.
2) I agree, but I guess it's down to how the game files have to be unpacked and repacked with the music files, I assume the mod just overwrites the old files and doesn't back the original music up to save on hard drive space. But this was just a minor annoyance and people generally aren't going to be switching between setups.

If you're resorting to Cheat Engine that table isn't the correct one to use for anyone using the Moguri Mod.

That's the one that was made specifically for the Moguri Mod. I still don't recommend using Cheat Engine unless you need to get past a game glitch, but at least if you're going to use it you should have the right table.
