Hey, been having the same issue, care to explain how you fixed it? :)
Do you have a solution/clue about this?
Thank you!
I've enabled the no-auto trance feature and it worked, however using it decreased Zidane's MP by 14.
I've done some additional modding on top of Moguri, so I'm wondering if something might have gotten messed up because of it, or if this is intentional and using the manual trance command is supposed to cost MP. I've installed Moguri compatible Alternate Fantasy and then I did some other modifications to the Assembly-CSharp.dll using dnSpy. I also used Hades Workshop's unity asset viewer to change some of the texts in resources.assets, but these were minor things like changing Wht Mag to say White Magic and such.
I also can't seem to escape from battles, unless I use Zidane's flee. If I use the regular method, it just keeps going and it doesn't work.
So I'm wondering if something went wrong. I think the running away problem is coming from either Moguri or Alternate Fantasy. I think I went back to an unmodded Moguri + AF and running away was still a problem, so it shouldn't be my modifications. I wanted to ask if Moguri could be causing this by itself or if it's a compatibility issue with AF? I'm betting on the latter, but maybe it's an issue caused by something else?
These issues are minor but I'm trying to troubleshoot them nonetheless, so some information on these would be appreciated, maybe it will help me figure it out.
About escaping from battles, I also noticed that I couldn't escape using the regular method.
I'm using Moguri + audio fix mode, that's all, so it may be an issue with Moguri or even with this version of the game itself.
Thanks, good to know! I think it's Moguri then, because I'm almost sure the game itself doesn't have this problem.
As for the Manual Trance problem I've mentioned, I've figured out what causes it but I'm not sure why it happens.
For whatever reason, the 14 MP I mentioned is taken from the Actions.csv file, within "Moguri Mod\StreamingAssets\Data\Battle". It takes the value from cell Q103 and applies it to the manual Trance, so when I activate Trance manually with the new button added by Moguri, it subtracts as much MP as there is in this cell. With Moguri + Alternate Fantasy, this cell had Quina's Vanish spell, costing 14 MP, so Trance cost 14 MP too. I'm not sure what is in this cell if you're only using Moguri, it's possible it's something with 0 MP cost. It's also possible this doesn't happen at all in Moguri itself and is caused by Alternate Fantasy.
I fixed the issue by making the MP cost in cell Q103 0. However since Vanish is a good ability that should cost 14 MP, I also switched this ability with another one of Quina's abilities that I never use, to keep the game balanced. I just switched the lines basically, and then used Hades Workshop's Unity Asset Viewer function to export the text files for the spells, and then I switched the texts for the two spells and their descriptions.
It worked, but there may be a bug where the monsters that the spells are learned from give the switched spells now. I don't have an appropriate safe file to test it, so I don't know for sure yet. However this is very minor, and I purposefully switched Vanish with a spell that is acquired at Gizamaluke's Grotto, shortly after Quina joins. The spell I switched it with was Self-Destruct by the way, which is only in Alternate Fantasy, and makes sense to cost 0 MP. I'm not sure what I would have switched it with if I was playing vanilla.
It mods textures and soundtrack. Also adds widescreen support and a font that resembles the original.
3 tings:
1.No way to disable HD backgrounds.
2.No way to disable orchestra soundtrack without reinstalling
3.Widescreen is bugged (all effects during combat are misaligned).
Other than that I hope the battle UI fix is implemented soon.
1 - Why would you want to? It's literally called "Moguri Mod (FF IX HD)"
2 - Well just pick which one you want and keep it
3 - You can disable this and just not use widescreen
