These are people who are taking personal time, unpaid time, away from anything else they could be doing in their lives to work on a fan-made project that they offer to you for free.
Show them a little more respect, mmm?
I mean, nothing stopping you from doing all the work to learn how these things go, and do the fixes yourself, mm? Other than, you know, the hundreds of hours spent learning how to do it, etc etc etc.
Yes, this is a known bug. I can also happen in other places too, such as when you're trying to get to Dagger in Alexandria Castle to save her from the jesters, etc. Anytime a "special" music plays in a spot where it doesn't normally play, there's a chance that it will get "stuck" and play ontop of other music.
Simply save the game, quit and reload to fix it.
Cool, cheers. If it's a known thing then that's fine I didn't want to duplicate reports, especially as I haven't got a vid of it. Now you mention it I think I got the Zorn and Thorn bug as well but didn't pay much attention as I had the sound pretty low in that section.
For me my achievement works BUT it's delayed. Basically, I have to wait like 10 to 15 minutes before it appears on my achievement board. Especially those that require spell casting, card winning and of course the infamous Bodies Hit the Floor counter. No bueno on the overlay, so I think the disabled overlay must have prevented the counters to be updated in real time.
No. It will usually pop up the Moguri Menu, then when when you click play it should go straight to the game. Perhaps you can validate files and reinstall again?
A few pages back, I posted a fix, lemme try to remember what I did.
EDIT:
Right click FFIX in your games list, click Properties, and change both of the bottom two to "Forced Off", restart Steam and/or FFIX and see if that fixes the problem. I had a very similar problem with intermittent and wonky controller detection with 360 controller until I did that, then it works flawlessly.
Hi there.
I'm also having the same problem on both my PC and Laptop.
This is with a PS4 controller where the d-pad is disabled and start=R2 and X=Sq
I've tried messing with loads of settings and nothing seems to make it work properly
Disabling steam overlay and having both options forced off doesn't work.
Any settings in controller configs in big picture mode doesn't make a difference either
I found using a 360 controller seems to work but I'd rather use my PS4 one because I'm happier using the D-pad
I tried using inputmapper to emulate a 360 controller but having any controller emulation software installed seems to stop widescreen mode from working, and this reignited the dpad but the other buttons are still remapped
On my PC widescreen seems to have stopped working altogether even when the button mapper is uninstalled.
I suppose there are a few more things I can think to try but it would be nice if someone can outline all the settings that worked for them.
Cheers,
Andy
Small issue is the D-pad stopped registering either up/down or L/R but this was fixed by restarting
Also when entering a menu like in battle Down on d-pad wouldnt work until the control stick is used to move the cursor off the starting position
Anyway livable with but if anyone happens to have any insight feel free to share it if you want
I'm kinda curious... why do you want to play it with the D-Pad, exactly? It's a game with full 3D movement, and it was developed well after Dual-shock controllers became popular for the PS1, and it was designed with the DS Analog Stick in mind. I don't like using the 360's Dpad for any consistent lengths of time, and it doesn't bother me to use it occasionally in combat when any serious situation comes up (otherwise I just use the thumbstick, as inaccurate as it is in menus).
Just curious; just seems like a tremendous amount of work to go to avoid using the 360 controller which works fine out of the box.
Also...
Has anyone tried anything like Joy2Key and just setting the game on full keyboard input? Does that work?
I had the same issue as well. I hope maybe someday there'd be a torrent version of the file because the site would stop downloading half way due to connectivity issues. I think it's a google thing. Cause mine isn't steady at times and it sucks to have to restart downloading it from scratch.
Maybe you can try from here:
https://www.moddb.com/mods/moguri-mod
sometimes these sites are a bit more stable.
before square enix patch FF 9 around june - july (CMIIW), moguri mod 8.0.1 was run flawlessy albeit minor bugs.
Curious question : can we revert back FF 9 to older version? so we can use 8.0.1
