Last chocograph piece

So I have run into a weird issue, I got a guide and have all the chocographs I can get right now, only missing the ones from the air garden and no.20 from the pieces. I have all the treasure from all of them, other than the one I need the gold chocobo to get. I have the airship, dagger has cut her hair off... But I can't find the last Chocograph piece.

I have been digging so long my beak is level 99. Are all the guides wrong and you can't get the last piece till later, or is this just some dumb glitch. Should I go do terra first then try again?

For the Chocograph n°20 (needs 6 pieces)

You have to find the pieces in the Forest and the the Lagoon (i'm not sure if it's 3 pieces in each areas)
When you find the last chocograph of an area, the moogle'll say that you find all available pieces in this area (so i guess you have to remember if the moogle tell you something in one of these area)

Everything you mentioned is exactly whats happening now. I'm at beak lvl 99 and ive made enough points to get a robe and a ring...I haven't been able to get that chocograph or pieces that i need to get that chocograph to unlock the sky ability and i also have the airship and dagger cut her hair off. I played this game with a file before and had no issues with this but on a new file presently i have this issue..

I would also like to mention Ive found every possible chocograph with the dark blue chocobo possible and i have a unfound chocograph that needs sky ability..

Ok...literally after this post i found the pieces finally after dozens of attempts at the lagoon and forest. I guess it really is based off luck???

If its luck mine was just bad. I did some more in the game, finished Terra and now have them, but seeing that you had the same issue, I don't feel so bad, but I'm glad you got it. just a lot of bad luck going on for the both of us

My Choco was level 60 and level 61 when I've got my last 2 pieces.

Kind of but there could be something more, too. I'm not going to look online to see if it is known how it functions exactly and they could have changed something from the original PSX version which I played but you shouldn't be anywhere near beak level 99 and only finding it just now. In fact, I'd say you shouldn't even have beak level 30 or higher by this point. This is a sign you've been digging in an inefficient manner and likely not getting as good results as you could be each round of the mini-game. Perhaps better performance in the mini-game also translates to better rewards during a given round but this is entirely speculation, as I've beaten the game at least 8+ times and never broken 40 beak level, almost never 30 really, despite finishing that mini-game each time. If you figure out the way to search efficiently it should usually take no more than 2-5 pecks per finding the treasure spot most of the time.
