...I like Chess, you know. Used to be quite good at it back in the day.
It is not just a few games this is how wait mode works in pretty much every SE ATB game.
Again, it's like Chess. You might find it easy; I do not. I loved X for the fact I could stop and carefully plot out my next moves. Again.... like Chess.
Chess requires one to plan many moves ahead; FFIX doesn't.
IE: Timed battles (5... 4... 3... 2... 1... [X-party wipe move here])
IE: Boss Killing.
Trash mobs don't count.... unless it's Marlboro. Add an example there too. Fun times.
Also, the fact you use XIII as an example of a "good" FF title is hilarious. "Lightning Dies, so game over"? What is this, Shining Force but with only 3 playable characters? Get that sh*te outta here.
We're talking about REAL Final Fantasies here... like IX, that requires forethought; unless you like starting over, and over, and over again. Like Chess... any battle (espesically bosses) require knowing the mechanics (IOWs: The opponent), knowing their moves (IOWs: The opponent), knowing how to beat them... and how to plan ahead to ensure victory.
Anyway, I have no intentions of debating further... nor did I intend for some pseudo-argument to get started in the first place, so here is where I bow out of this thread. Good luck friend... and may Kefka have mercy on your soul.
It's "ridiculously easy" to you. You aren't the center of the universe. Some people are handicapped and only play turn based games (I have a paralyzed friend for instance). Even handicaps aside, some people don't want to feel rushed when playing TURN BASED combat.
Anyways, I have this on Switch not Steam, but the ATB is broken on there too.
