No Zidane

I am playing FFIX for the first time and I am loving it so far. I do, however, have one question. Is it possible to play as other characters aside from Zidane? There was a feature in FFIV and I am pretty sure FFVI too where you press L or R to switch the character you see in the field. Is this possible in this game? I would really like to see something other than Zidane for a while...

No you can't. Just at the end of the game you can remove Zidane from the party and even if you do when you run on the map you always see Zidane.

He wanted to know if he could have done like in FFIV, switch the character to see another who would not be Zidane...He wanted to know this and you answer another thing.

No...In this game you're forced to keep Zidane in the group until Cd4 and in CD4, even if you remove him from the party you always see him moving in the dungeon.

Then, in the game there are some little moments in wich you control other characters of course...But he didn't answer this.

In the one of Behemot I answered correctly telling him that he can not fight him with Daga again with no a save state and you intervened writing nonsense.
Again, in this topic, I answered correctly telling him that he can't switch to change the character to see in the field like in FFIV and that the player is forced to keep Zidane in the party until Disc 4..
Then, correctly, I told him that in disc 4 even if the player removes Zidane from the party we continue to see him as character on the field.

That's what he wants to know and that's what I said...You've intervened writing nonsense in this topic too.
In some part of the game you have other characters on the field of course, but this is off-topic.

Maybe there is a mode to remove Zidane from the party before disc 4, or to switch character to see on the field...But in the vanilla game we can't do it.
