Thank's to the speed up, grinding is super easy in this version.
If Quina and Steiner are super low level you will have a bad time in a certain scene. My nephew nearly got stuck there but pulled through with phoenix down spam.
As far as I recall you have the opportunity to level up otherwise.
They are absolutely right, I recently started playing this game after purchasing it a year ago. It was the only final fantasy game I havent beaten, aside from the MMO games, but the fact that you can speed up the game using "F1" helps tremendously with level grinding.
Even at the very beginning of the game, with experience being so low maybe netting you 50exp per battle, this nifty tool literally makes it a breeze. So imagine what it would be like in an areas where experience given is 2500! you'd most likely gain 10 levels in roughly 15-30 minutes
Unfortunately I am still on disc 1 and my ship just crashed in the cursed forest sooooo ya lol im just now getting out into the world, but I hope this helped you out.
I don't really ever think I'm underleveled. I don't go out of my way to level up, but I don't ever run from battles either. The game will turn into Super Easy Mode if you use Auto-Regen and Auto-Haste together too.
But I wouldn't think too much on it if you're underleveled or not. As long as you aren't running from every other battle, you'll be fine.
UNLESS, you're going for a "Steal" playthrough. If you intend to Steal every item each boss has, then you might want to grind a little bit.
But as long as you keep up to date with gear, you should be fine. Honestly, one of the hardest parts for me was when you have to fight that boss with only Zidane and Quina, in I think a desert area? As I never use Quina, and I rarely get him the first time you leave Lindblum, so he has almost no Blue Magic either.
Steiner is a beast though. Give him a couple up-to-date pieces of gear and a good weapon and he can carry that fight. Some playthroughs I use Steiner, others I use Freya (either way I never use Quina), and the only trouble I had was that one boss I mentioned earlier. And it was probably because I wanted to Steal everything he had.
Maybe it's just second nature to me so I don't ever have these issues, lol. I've played this game so much, it's also the only FF game I've completed 100%.
