This method of attacking avoids Sealion's counters at lowered HP- first an out of turn Blizzara, and then an out of turn Tsunami. Both of these deal heavy damage and can easily lead to a death if not anticipated.
You should probably use a Potion on Zidane's 3rd turn, and then every 4th turn afterwards. Conveniently, this leaves a few turns open for stealing while waiting for Trance, and the Mythril Dagger Sealion carries is a shiny upgrade.
Or you can attack twice when in Trance, that works too- just make sure your HP is at max before you attack!
