45 Minutes On Black Waltz #3
I have been on Black Waltz #3 for around 45 minutes doing nothing but stealing trying to get the silver gloves from him. RNG hates me, i have yet to steal, bad rng is bad!

Yeah, RNG is a big bastard when it comes to stealing items. I spent few hours stealing one item from Hillgigars. ON TURBO MODE

Its always been annoying. One or 2 bosses have Rare steales which as the poster above stated would take hours to get. I don't have the patience for it.
I just use cheats to make stealing a breeze. I remember the struggle, and I don't have time for it anymore.

The game's calculations are such that you might not be able to steal the item at all if your level is too low. And the game certainly doesn't help to communicate this to you. It displays the same "Couldn't steal anything" message regardless of the reason.

Just wanted to let everyone know that i finally got the item after 1 hour 30 minutes of trying :) The screenshot is in my library, forever preserved!
But why... why would you spent so much time for a item thats much easier available later?

i didnt know it was, first time playing it xD

jezus, none of the bosses have missable items, spending 45 minutes for silver gloves is kind of a time waster

<---rip :( like i said didn't know, first time playing.
No, you do you, buddy. Person above you seems to have an axe to grind.

I ALWAYS try to steal everything from every boss, no matter how long it takes. Back in the day, that meant spending upwards of an hour on a single boss, whittling my resources. Nowadays it's much more bearable given the fast forward function.

Other Final Fantasy games make the bosses carry nothing, which I think might be a better way to go about things. That eliminates the desire to constantly reload saves to retry getting a single item. I do enjoy that this one rewards you with early access to items that you won't get until later in the game, sometimes much later.
Took me about 5 minutes. Gotta remember to kill off your party when possible for faster stealing.

The trouble is without the master thief ability, the steal command not only has an rng for success on filled item slots, it also can select empty ones (enemies have up to 4 slots which hold their stealable items).

lol same. I quickly got past this game and didn't "cheat" again till the end. I got to many FF to play and since there was an option to skip some grinding, I toke it.

The Steal command really triggers the OCD in people. I'd rather focus on the battle instead of having Zidane waste 10 rounds before attacking.
