enemies have a chance to drop a card of themselves after you defeat them in battle (i mean the physical battle, not tetra master). you can also loot some decent cards out of chests.
other than that you can play some of the tougher opponents in tetra master and pray to RNGesus that your pitiful goblins and skeletons are enough to snatch some of their powerful cards
it has a complicated RNG heavy three phase method of determining the winner.
let's take a look at this specific case:
the 1 power physical attack of the sword is measured against the 4 power physical defense of the behemoth.
in the first phase the starting power of attack and defense are determined based on their number value.
an attack value of 1 gives you a starting power of anything between 16 and 31
a defense value of 4 gives you a starting defense of anything between 64 and 79
for the sake of an example let's assume that the sword got a starting attack value of 20 while the behemoth managed to roll a starting defense value of 70.
easy defense right? well, yes... if it wasn't for phase two.
in phase two a random number between 0 and the now determined starting value is chosen.
this number is then substracted from the starting value and the resulting numbers are pitted against each other.
so if the sword with a starting attack value of 20 rolled a 5 in phase two and the behemoth with a starting defense value of 70 rolled a 68 in phase two the end results would be 15 versus 2 in the final phase, which is the actual battle, where the sword emerges victorious.
extremely unlikely to happen, hence why OP is so upset, but in tetra master anything is possible.
even a 0P00 goblin kicking the ass of any FAFF card with the right amount of luck.
