Hello everyone, I am making this thread for the news players but also for people who might want to make a walkthrough of the game. This will cover all the quest in the very first area of the game and also some recommendation in order to have a good start.

I recommend following the quest in the order I describe them, some need to have spent some time walking around to be available.

The 'Tiger's' Cave: Talk to the water carrier in the town, he'll tell you that the villagers often hear a tiger's howl. After this go back to where you started from and go upward toward the cave, Ren will talk with you and you'll end up in a battle.

Don't forget to open the three chest, you might want to save first in case you fail. Each time you fail to open a chest you lose an iron key so just in case, each time you find a big chest; SAVE!

Scholar's Riddle: Talk to the scholar in white wandering in the town, he'll give you a riddle if you accept to help him. After this go talk to the monk sitting in the city, go back outside the village where you first appeared and go left toward the two men playing chest. Talk to the old man one time, he'll tell you he want plum which will be mentioned later in this guide.
Talk two time to the man in red then return to the scholar and answer him 'Yourself'.

Medecine for the Drunk: Enter the house next to monk, you'll find inside a couple. Talk to the woman who'll ask you to get medecine from the doctor for her husband.
You'll find the doctor at the bottom right of the entrance of the village.
You can also ask for arsonic to kill the drunk man (that ******* beat his wife). Then return to the wife. If you poison the medecine you'll receive a minus in Moral which can help if you have the talent 'Malevolent'. If you just give it as it is you'll instead receive a bonus in moral.
You will also receive some money and a Leather Armor.

Hunter's Confession: The hunter at the left of the village will ask you to give a Bear Paw to the woman he love. You can also take the opportunity while you are there to open the chest at the below the hunter. Go back to the bridge and down, talk to the girl near the entrance of the wine shop then return to the hunter to gain a bow and 100 arrow.

Monk's Wine and Bear Paw: The monk from the Scholar Riddle's quest asked you to give him some Duyang Wine and a Bear Paw. If you completed the Tiger's Cave quest, you might have received some. If not go to the wine shop and buy it. As for the Bear Paw, you can either hunt for it next to the hunter or buy it later. The monk will give you a book which can increase your comprehension. I recommend not using it, you can exchange it later at Luoyang.

Fisherman's Wine (Everyone in the village love wine...): Talk to the two people drinking tea at the middle of the town, one will tell you that the fisherman love Jimo Wine. If you didn't receive it at the Tiger's Cave, just buy it. The fisherman will give you a bonus of +5 in fishing, a fishing pole and 20 earthworm.

There's no more quest with him for now, he'll tell you to use red earthworm in order to catch rainbow carp. You NEED 41 in fishing in order to catch one. Some people say they manage to get them before, but personally in at least 50 Save/Load I didn't manage to find any before getting 41. Later, you will be able at Luoyang to give 2 rainbow carp to a certain NPC during Jiang's Birthday.

Noodle Soup: The cook at the center of the town will ask you for 5 carp. You have to fish them nearby the fisherman, you'll find them near the dead branch. He'll give you 2000 qian as a reward and one meal.

Counting the Jar: At the left of the Wine Shop, a NPC is counting his jar. Talk to him many time and he'll ask you to count them. The answer is 37. He'll give you money as a reward.

Blacksmith's Need: The blacksmith near the cook's shop need 5 iron ore, you can mine them above the hunter. Take this opportunity to talk to the two other NPC who'll give you a bonus in Mining and Havesting. Give them back to the Blacksmith.

Old man's Plum: This quest need to have spent some time in the city which is why it's only mentioned now. Talk to the kid wandering around the Wine Shop, he'll want to play hide and seek. You'll find him behind the couple's house who you gave the medecine to. He is pretty hard to see. He'll give you Plum, return to the old man and get his book.

Greedy Beggar: The beggar walking around the place where you appeared or praticing martial arts nearby the two chess player want money. He'll first ask you for 500, then 1000 and finally 2000.
He'll finally reveal his real identity and ask you what you want as a reward for your generocity.
1/ Ultimate Martial Arts: Buddha Palm (Need 3000 Health)
Dugu Swordmanship (150 Martial Knowledge)
Dog Beating Staff (80 in Staff)
2/ Knowledge: +20 in Comprehension
3/ Ultimate Weapon: Give you mudball (never took it so don't know its effect but probably a consumable weapon for fight)
4/ Money Back (Seriously?)

I don't recommend getting the Dugu Swordmanship which is annoying to get since you'll probably find better style by the time you can use it. Don't know for the Dog Beating Staff but its pretty much the same I guess. For the Buddha palm, you can use it pretty early as long as you purchase the Eastern Internal Skill at Mid November First Year.

Tiger Pen**: A woman behind the couple's house want a Tiger's Pe*** to cure her husband. You can get it either by hunting when your hunting skill is above 31 or by buying it from the hunter after having spent some time. She'll give you a book needed to start the Celestial Maiden Romance (Or so I saw somewhere on the forum).

Mother's Worry: A woman near the place where you appeared want three sacrifice for good luck for her son. You can buy the first meat you need from the hunter, you have to hunt for the chicken and fish for the grass carp.
The Grass Carp is found at the top of the dead branch or at the right, near the grass.
Reward: Jade Talisman (Bonus in critical)
It might be a good idea if you can to get 3 mink fur, you can later exchange them at Luoyang for the Xiaoyao Staff Technique

Poison Cure: Enter the very first house you see when you enter the village, don't forget to talk to the man outside who give you a bonus in Flower. Inside you'll find a collapsed man, talk to him. He ask you to give him some medecine which you can buy from the doctor for 5000. He'll give you in return a sword (60 damage + bonus counter)
You can exchange the sword to the blacksmith for a blade or a staff.

Curing your disease: There's a strange man walking around the town whom you spoke to when you first arrived. He'll ask you a question, the first answer give you a bonus of +5 in morality.
He'll tell you that you are sick and can cure you for 1000 gold.
You can chose after you pay him one of his three pills:
1/The Scarlet pill give you a bonus in 50 attack.
2/ The second pill give you 200 health
3/ The third pill give you 100 Energy

I recommend getting the 1 pill, you'll have a lot of health and energy later in the game, but the attack is much more important and harder to get!

Those are all the quest of this first area.


Now my recommendation: If it's your first game, then do them all. It's pretty fun for roleplaying first! If you already finished the game once or only want to have a good start and try to do them all later, then here is what you should do:

Do the Tiger Cave's Quest first to get the wine. Open the three chest then go open the third one. When you can, talk to the man counting his jar and get the money reward. Talk to every gatherer who give you bonus in stats and give the wine to the fisherman.

After that its simple... MINE, MINE AND MINE AGAIN!

When you mine and have a combo of 20+, you'll get wooden chest with very powerful items inside. It'll also raise your appraisal at the same time. You'll very quickly make a fortune!

Get the scarlet pill as soon as possible and the medecine for the poisoned man, but don't cure him and consume it yourself since it give a bonus of 200 in health.
Buy all Wine and drink them, they give bonus health and internal and also raise you Liquor stat, useful a little later.

Pay the beggar 3500 and take what you want from him, having comprehension is good, but at the same time you will get more health if you comprehension isn't too high. (Each time you pratice internal you gain health and energy/ High Comprehension= Less turn for praticing till mastered=Less bonus Health)

Get the book from the monk after buying a bear paw from the hunter and also don't forget the book from the wife if you want to get the Celestial Maiden Romance.

That's it, Minning is the truth, Minning is the Key... Mine for Power... Mine for Wealth... Mine for the World...

For the 3 mints you need your hunting skill above 31 you'll then be able to find some really fast creatures in blue balls. Those are the mints.

I want to explore the game a little moroe before turning it into a guide.

You can also get a book by openning the treasure chest in the south of the hunter.. The book is a pillow book named Xia's Paradise which could add some affection to most of your friends!

The reward for the three minks is the Xiaoyao Staff Technique. You should also add that the soybean quest enable you to access Celestial Maiden's Romance.
Also, by opening all chest at the pawn shop you can obtain a porcelaine cup which can be exchanged at the antiquities shop for either the Immortal Ink (book or painting) if I remember the name correctly, or a Jade something treasure.
The Immortal Ink can be exchanged in Jiang's mansion for a sword book which give +50 attack on use. (require 80 in sword to use)
The Jade one at the same place but with a different character give the same type of book, but for fist and with a bonus of +50 def.

You will also receive in one of the chest another treasure which is a stolen object belonging to the security escort; can also be exchanged for something but don't remember what.

I'm still replaying the same cities to get all those things you've mentions, and to fill out any other details such as the exact time when you can hand in the Mink quest.

I'm too lazy to go back to redo starting village to find the time for counting jar and hide & seek quest to start XP

Hopefully other people who are ahead can help out as well, reducing the workload to find all the quest.

I think the trigger for the Ink Immortal are four green guys sitting near the teahouse, between the Jiang's mansion and the market.

"Jing vs Ren Jiannan"
It's worth noting that cheering for Ren unlocks him in your facebook, so it's a better choice than cheering for Jing Ji.

Base on the Info Seller, I'm curious on how to track down the thief.

I manage to trade the Jade Ichthyosaur, but I don't know what is the trigger for it since I wasn't able to exchange it in the beginning.

I also manage to find out if you pray at the temple, you can get a reward as well.

Someone said that the birthday gift is trigger by answering the scholar's quiz, so I have to check that out.

Ink trigger = the disciples of Qingcheng outside the teahouse (near the market stall/the 4 idiots)

Jade ichthyosaur trigger = head of the matchless sword sect

Birthday trigger = the maid outside Jiang's mansion building (but inside the courtyard), the left one (the right one and the two inside don't know Jiang's preference, only that maid does).

I don't think we can meet Shi Yan (the thief) at this stage yet.

Also, Dugu swordsmanship can be used very early if you get Wulinpedia on the 2nd year (+100 martial knowledge) and it's a very strong offensive style (the strongest offensive wise out of all sword styles except maybe the sword saint's).
