TheHippoAtYourWindow, that's uncalled for, to call TheSlipGateUser bad and a loser, shame on you, don't be a bully. Just because it's easy for you doesn't give you excuse to look down on people that struggle with this game. To even dodge those purple comets is hard. This game really is hard, even in Rookie difficulty. I've got through the story in Rookie mode 3 times, to unlock the 3 Rookie unlockables, but it was still extremely hard. After beating the last level, I'm not ever doing that again, and am not going anywhere near Veteran or Superstar Hero mode. I can honestly say, this is one of the hardest and frustrating games I have ever played in my life. The majority of the levels in this game are fine, those are so much fun, I love doing them over and over again, just for fun, but it's the last couple levels that are really hard, starting from the red meteor storm level. At that point, the game really does get very hard and frustrating, enough to definitely make someone rage.
I'm embarrassed to admit this, but, I did too, because the difficulty of the last level in this game is just mind-blowing, I can't believe how hard it is, even in rookie difficulty. The difficulty of the last couple levels is what you would expect from expert difficulty, not the easiest. I can understand it being really hard in Veteran and Superstar Hero mode, but Rookie? No. A challenge is good, it makes games fun, but it's too over-the-top in that difficulty (Rookie). Rookie difficulty is the easiest, and shouldn't be anywhere near as hard as it is. It's very strange that the last couple levels in Rookie difficulty are so extreme, when it's supposed to be the easiest difficulty. I do agree with you about Chicken Invaders being an amazing series, though, Chicken Invaders 3 is my favourite steam game at the moment, because the majority of levels are really fun, and not too hard, but it's the last couple levels that are really frustrating. I did get through the story in Rookie difficulty 3 times, to unlock the 3 rookie unlockables, but only JUST.
And I don't like that you're pressured to do the same thing in Veteran and Superstar Hero mode, to unlock more stuff. No thanks, Rookie mode is already hard enough. It's disappointing, but at the same time, I'm ok with not unlocking the Veteran and Superstar Hero unlockables, or the hard steam achievements, because it's just too hard, it's not worth putting yourself through more stress. Continuing the story in Veteran and Superstar Hero difficulties is NOT WORTH IT, because it only gets harder after Rookie.
So, a word of advice to anyone that wants to buy any Chicken Invaders games? If you do get it, don't keep playing the levels that are so frustrating for you, they aren't fun to play anymore. Cause games are supposed to be fun, right? The majority of levels in this one, Chicken Invaders 3, are so much fun, they're a lot easier than the levels in Chicken Invaders 2, but there's a point where it gets too frustrating, and you have to stop advancing, or risk having a serious rage, like TheSlipGateUser said. For me, it's the red meteor storm level, that's my limit, from there, it's too frustrating for me. It doesn't matter whether you're a good player or not, it's still very easy to die in this game, which is why there's no excuse for calling people bad players (there's no excuse for calling people bad players for any reason, anyway). I want to play this game for fun, so whenever I play it, I do the levels up to the point where it gets too frustrating for me, then stop - play the levels that are fun for you, then stop when it gets too frustrating. That way, you still have fun!
The reason I die is either I don't pay enough attention where I'm flying and hitting an egg or because of bravado (like trying to fly right under a chicken but then it moved down and I wasn't able to stop and turn in time).
My lack of skill can always be fixed with enough tries. If you're too much of a wuss to handle it, then that's your own problem, go play Solitaire or something.
Should've deleted this post some time ago, lol
The game also punishes you hard for using only one missile on some chicken waves, since all the chickens respawn at once and make things hell.
I will grant you the terminator chicken wave though, always takes forever unless you're willing to spend 12 missiles.
Chicken Invaders 2 is probably the easiest one in the series, just go for the neutron gun early on and shred basically everything, Veteran mode is easier than regular in that one because you get more extra lives, not that you'll need them.
Chicken Invaders 4 gives you much more room to dodge than 3 and always gives you the chance to blast the bullet hell (meteor) rounds by shooting them, unlike 3 where the meteors can spawn under you and the comets always do.
5 is a bit harder than 4 but nowhere near as tough as 3, 3 doesn't ♥♥♥♥ around, it's the hardest in the series (in my opinion).
