The Bug Thread
The game is out in the wild, and with so many new users and a variety of different hardware configurations, we're expecting there may be some bugs.

So please, tell us your issues here, and we will try to resolve them as quickly as possible. Make sure you include the following information when reporting a bug:

  • Nature of the bug (crash, glitch, graphical error etc.)
  • Can you reproduce the bug? What causes the bug to occur?
  • Operating system version
  • CPU
  • Graphics Card
  • What controllers you are using (Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3 etc.)

Also, it would be great if you could grab the contents of the "output_log.txt" file which can be found in Your Steam Directory\steamapps\common\Western Press\data.

Keep in mind, this info from the file will only be relevant if you haven't tried to run the game again after the last error.

Game hangs when playing memory mode against bot during a tournament, IF the player is on the right hand side of the screen. This is using the keyboard. The fighters exhange greetings, then the announcer says "Repeat after me" of equivalent, and then the game just sits there. Environmental movement and effects continue, but the fighters just stare at each other and the letters are never presented. You can access the escape menu and exit or go back to the main menu, but if you go back to the fight, the fighters continue to wait for the letters, which never come. This seems to occur every time I end up on the right hand side against a bot during a tournament using memory mode (keyboard control).

I am in Windows 7, CPU is Intel Core i7 2860 QM @ 2.50ghz, graphics is Nvidia 555m

I'm very sorry your remembering was interrupted by a cursed bug! I've just pushed a fix up now that should rectify the issue. Have a play and let me know if you run into any more problems!

(If the update doesn't download automatically, restarting Steam should kick it into gear!)

Not a bug but a question ........


I decided to buy the game because i like text type games, is there a simple way to add the custom words just to a plain txt file and give it the extension name the game needs to identfiy its a word list ?
I have very old games like this and they had a simple txt file , you can add words to the list.

One more question:

Reading from top to bottom is quite slowly , there is space on the bottom of the screen maybe putting the text horizontal or an option to place it there in the menu would be a great help.
This way i wont be restarting the same opponent everytime and the game stays cool that way.
Or an option to make the screen 50% smaller (real windowed mode) this way the letters will still be readable and in one flow, now at 1280 the letters are to big and i need to read alot vertically, if the game would be 50% smaller the etxt would be smaller and easier to read even when its vertical text.


These are the only things , other then that i think the game is great, keep up the good work.

Hey there! Sorry about the delay, apparently we missed the notification! Unfortunately this isn't possible at the moment, the word-list is locked away so words are synced (and fair) in multiplayer. I will take a look at enabling a custom word-list for local games, but I can't promise anything!

Unfortunately changing text to be horizontal would be a pretty big change, because typing support was added later on, after the game's framework was built. So sadly that isn't something we're able to do easily!

I am trying to play a 16 Bot Match Tournament, and I can never finish it. Whenever it is my turn (sometimes the first round, sometimes the last) I get this in the console

My keyboard's Enter/Return key isn't functioning, so I have been using the Enter key on the keypad for most games. However, this game doesn't recognize that key, making the game unplayable. The problem occurs with numlock on and off. Is there a way I can get this working?

Are you using the normal Enter key or the Enter key on your 10-keypad? It's the keypad key that isn't working (my regular Enter key isn't functioning, so it's the only one that I have). The game really should support both keys, as most other games do.

Been trying to play this for a while, never gotten to the title screen! It boots up, starts loading (with the little card shuffle animation) then immediately stops with the following:
"Error. See Console for details." Anything I can do to help run this down? There's nothing in eventviewer. I've deleted and reinstalled, verified local app data and all that stuff.
