that happens when you get a head shot on the dino, head shots are uncommon but you can do it and it does tons of damage

Head shots have never been a thing in this game. Locational damage is planned, but it has never been put into the game or implemented for any attack thus far.

The idea that some stomp attacks on certain herbivores have been able to "headshot" anything has been a rumor for ages now, and it is a rumor that needs to die.

There have been times in the past when shants stomp was able to register more than once on a single target. It was a bug, not a feature, but people who witnessed it believed it to be this fabled "headshot" mechanic. Even after it was patched, people still did not recognise that it was a bug.

Stop telling people this misinformation.

Shouldn't have picked a fight with something that has 6 foot long horns..

Would make sense if said horns could be deflected. Also in consideration is hooves are not horns..and shouldn't even affect a rex

In the trike's stomp animation it thrusts its entire body forward. It's not just stomping.

There’s a simple solution, ambush the trike...

You should look at the animation again. Also it's impossible given its weight and body orientation to "thrust forward"

No. The Trike does in fact use the weight of its body to give its horns more power. It's "hooves" barely even leave the ground (largely because it points them down as it stomps). It putting it fore-body into the air does slightly reduce its length, meaning when it comes back down it does in fact come forward as well, and with most of its body weight behind the horns too. The attack is more of a "gore" than an actual stomp like Shant's or Pue's do. Probably shouldn't one shot Rex, but branding it as "hoovs shuldn hurt T-Wex!" is a rather silly way of putting it.

You are completely missing what I said. The Hooves should not hurt the rex. The Horns,Yes, the Hooves, no. Hooves are also known as feet. The HOOVES should not even touch be anatomically capable of touching a rex, and as such, should deal no damage. In short, a Stomp should have no effect on a rex.

Dude, I just took an entire paragraph pointing out how the stomp animation looks and thus how exactly it would have an effect. "You are completely missing what I said."

Learn to read.

Additionally, this is a topic about Trike One shotting Rex on the dev branch. So before you say "look at the animation again," I will point out that it has been changed significantly on the dev branch.

There is no locational damage in this game.
However, sometimes if you run or sprint at a stomping target you get hit multiple times (twice or three times actually) and it makes you feel like you got oneshotted.
