What's the point of the game?
I mean, I know there are chill out games out there, but this one is based on a cheap and affordable real life activity you could do. Why would you buy a game about it instead of doing it yourself?

The game is free, you don't have to buy it.

And sometimes people are in situations where keeping plants isn't possible, example: if you travel a lot.

This is a nice free little game where you can grow some plants on your PC. That's all. It also has some nice music for when you leave it open in the background.

Lots of things come to mind:

1. It's completly free, and the seedlings you can buy are very likely less expensive than real plants.
2. Plants grow faster IG than IRL.
3. You can re-organize your pot instantly, IRL it's pretty hard once the roots have expanded.
4. The pot follows you everywhere your PC (laptop quite often) goes.
5. There's a snail, and it can get wet.

There's only one window in my apartment, not enough places to put plants, and we already have more plants than we really have room for.

Plus I'd feel worse about real plants dying if I screw it up than if my digital plants die.

About the later, plants don't have brains, so you could care about them as much as about the cells in your body.

They are still living things, that you were caring for, dying. Even if they are just plants with no brains. I'd feel guilty if I let my plants die irl. It wouldn't break my heart and I wouldn't lose sleep over it, but I'd still feel bad.

I'm guessing this game just isn't the kind of thing for you. And that's fine! It's clearly not everyone's thing.

It's not that I don't care about them IRL, but it's not a big loss if they die while you are learning how to keep them. It would be far worse if you didn't know how to keep a cat and it dies.

I still have empathy for them, I don't want them to die anyway.

I keep irl plants and I have this game. I'm a homeschooler and it's nice to have this in the background while I do my work. The music is relaxing, and it keeps me calm/on task.
I also have a few pet snails in real life. Their habitat has plants that they feed on. The plants don't nearly stay as pretty and alive as the ones in this game, due to the fact the snails nibble on them for snack/fun. I like to care for irl plants and snails, but I also like to have this to alt+tab to whenever I need a small break from school work. I don't think thats too bad at all. I hope I answered your question well. :-)

You should teach your snails better. If they misbehave, water them. If they behave well, sing them a lullaby. GOD YOU GUYS DON'T LEARN NUTHIN !

soothing music
its a game about simulating a plants life, as you play and play, you'll notice that it soothes your soul, as you know that you may be able to plant in real life, and that you made great improvements on how plants work.

Because real life plants don't come out and tell me if they've been watered exactly right or not.
