Finish game with only free plants?

Have there been any people that never bought anything and though got all the achievements by getting all the free plants?

What free plants have you gotten? Did you also get one of the more expensive ones as a free weekly?

Made this my goal when I downloaded actually. I have just 4 left to get.

Exactly what Fuzzydude said. That is how I play Viridi and I have four left to get. My first free seed was Agave Macroacantha, a 29 cent seed. I did do several trades to get this far, but everyone has seeds to get rid of and seeds they want, so it isn't that hard.

If I decide to get the 100 plants achievement, then I will probably start trading my seeds for multiples of the most common seeds. Aeonium I think are pretty, but people have many extras. I think it would be nice to have a pot of lots of Aeonium. =]

I'm so close to getting the last few achivements with only free plants too but it makes it kind of hard since the free seedling is always late . If you are going to attempt this please save up your seeds so when you throw one you can automatically replace the seed.

Reporting back in - I acquired all the plants, they have all grown and matured. All that is left is to wait for a single flower from a single succulent. I am well on my way to the 50 plant mark as well, I think I am only a few plants short. Growing the minimum amount of all species + your starters places you at around 25. I had Eidolon as well, so that gave me an extra 7 or so.

I don't think I'm interested enough to try for 100. Onward to EarthTongue!

I've just been selling my random steam trading cards from games and sales to buy plants. Managed to get every achievement except the discard 100 one. Working on that. Currently amassing plants to throw out later.

Apropos cards... Viridi should get some, they would be really pretty.. and some nice plant emoticons would be really cute too

100%, no real money spent.

I have however traded cards for seeds, and since 100% have been trading seeds for cards.

Incidentally, I also have a grove map that I no longer need; while I like the ambiance in the basic view, I don't like the grove music so well. Never tried the fish skellie music.

Ooh, that's a good point!

The map comes free with another game, Eidolon. I was fortunate to have a friend give me the map since they didn't want to grow plants here, but you're right to point it out.

i never bought any, but ive exchanged my weekly free seeds quite a lot - and yes, i did get the more expensive plants as weekly free seeds such as aloe vera, sedum morganianum and agave blue glow

Look for the plant trading thread by Dzhinn, he will hook you up with plants you need.

I think you could do the 50 and 100 just by keep starting a new pot (it give you 10 plants), wait 15ish days then toss the plants, that is what i am doing now.
