But from the Developer's point of view- the game is already free. They charge nothing to play it. You don't need to spend a penny on anything to get all of the achievements. We already have the ability to trade and gift seedlings, and we already have the Community Seedbank- a centralized repository for donated seeds, that anyone can ask for seeds from. The only way the developer makes any money to fund the game and pay for any updates is through the sale of seeds and the additional maps/backgrounds.
The developer would be a bit of an idiot to spend time and money (their own) to add a feature to the game that cuts back the already small sounrce of income they get from the game.
It would require a great deal of interest and backing to pay for the devs to upgrade from free unity persoal to expensive Untiy Pro to add textures and features. And it would cost them a good bit of time, which equals money. Not something I would do if i did not have backers paying for it, to ensure i didn;t spend all of my own personal money. This Dev is not a rich Dev, rolling in dough. They aren't Blizzard or Ubisoft with tons of cash to throw out the window and hope the wind blows it back in. This is a very casual mobile ap port to PC. jst don;t see the finanacial gain from them doing this without a bigger finanacial backing.
Or at least one seed per plant. Buy one, get one free.
And then follow one of the Guides that explains how to grow several pots (without paying) by copying the local files. Imagine a backup of a plant only hours before harvesting.
Harvest seedling, sell seedling, copy backup file, wait 2 hours, harvest again, sell seedling again...
Too easy if we are not forced to use the cloud.
Well said.
