Advancing From Amateur Too Soon?
Does your team always advance out of the Amateur League after one season? I find that my teams defintely ready for the next level if they can't even take the Amateur championship. I'm facing defenders whose Defense is in the 70s while my Forwards have Accuracy in the 20s.

They never go up too soon... Higher league means higher xp reward ( and higher "everything" reward )... As IRL clubs can experience it too, you're not here in a smooth curve of progression from bottom to top... There are times when you go up, and next year go back down, etc...
But that's for the more "fluffy" or lore explanations.

Now to some technical stuff, I think landing in third league might lead to the hardest stuff ever, because your players will mostly be unskilled etc... Yet it's still always better to do your best to go up, so don't put an artificial brake on your progression.
Then you mention attribute values. And meanwhile they have hteir importance, what makes oyu win the games are the skill... Don't panic on higher opponent team values and with a bit of experience and strategies, you'll be able to beat them soon...

As an example I think it's fair to say that an average of 2.5 to 3.5 star team can beat the premier league.

What he said. Also getting promoted to the level one above the amateur league is really important. Your teams plays 22 league games opposed to only 14 in the amateur league. That's a lot more specialization and XP.

In my case, in Normal, my team is promoted at the end of season 1 in 1st place. In Difficult, it fights for the promotion in 3rd or 4th place because we start with 0 money, 0 glory and all players in "?", 0 skill and at level 1.

But to the question "Advancing From Amateur Too Soon?", I answer no but yes, but not for the same reason. Why ? Because I am for a slice of realism. In my country, apart from financial fair play, a club can only be promoted if its stadium is in accordance with the rules.

In France (except derogation, exemple during works or modernization or the number of citizen).
requirement for stadium capacity, to access in "Ligue 1" : 20 000 seats
requirement for stadium capacity, to access in "Ligue 2" : 8 000 seats

This is why I had asked KOS to establish an optional setting... such as:
Ligue 4 : 1.000 seats
Ligue 3 : 2.000 seats
Ligue 2 : 10.000 seats
Ligue 1 : 20.000 seats

I hope we'll get this new starter option in a future update. :br_love:

There are two rules in life. You can never have too many cookies. And you can never get out of Amateur League soon enough.

Those are all the rules in life.

Even if you try hard to stick in it the longest time ever ? :p

I did that (unintentionally) in my last hard mode attempt and it was no joy.

Does the possibility exist of getting demoted back to Amateur?

If you're in the last 3 of 3rd league yes... As it works for any league step : 3 first players get promoted and 3 last ones get demoted.

Then I'll probably be doing some more time in Amateur after my current season. :)

Sometimes it's better to stay in lower leagues because you can farm glory with huge goal differences.

Not good enough compared to draw or win a game once in a while against a higher opponent.

You're better off advancing to the higher leagues as soon as possible, even if you lose every game. At least you'll be able to train up your players faster compared to dominating a lower league; developing good players before they hit retirement age is probably the biggest strategic challenge.

If it looks like you're going to drop back down a league regardless of how well you compete before a season ends, I would suggest just loading up your line-ups with young players for the experience.

Try it like this :
( hard mode)

Kick out all old players, wait 5 - 6 seasons to train and build up a young team.
I simulate that by quick clicking, first 4-5 years I get last of amateur league.
but then !
you have 11 young players you trained like you wanted them.

most important thing in the beginning is :

Spend ALL fame in reducing the age of the free players.

All other points are second before you didn´t reached 16 years 5 stars !
