What's the point of tedium for mythic mats?
Why is this tedium even a thing. 10 of each boss item in any difficulty so it's just a literal time waste, and the boss is random so could take longer than 50 kills to get the required mats. I don't understand the actual gameplay function of this grind, it doesn't feel rewarding, it's not challenging, and worst of all farming the rift is annoying additionally because you have to go back to tinka then run back to waypoint to go again. At least add an "infinite" option where you just click some stairs after a boss to immediately go again.

Try it on T15, it takes like 20 minutes tops

They don't drop multiple of the material is the problem.

It's an rpg, you're supposed to grind. Might as well ask why you have to fight bunches of enemies to get exp. Honestly the requirements are pretty low and easy to get materials.

You're playing a game focused around grinding enemies for better loot. Why not just cheat and get what you want immediately? Not having to grind would defeat the purpose of the entire game. Get real.

Grinding doesn't (and shouldn't) mean doing trivial, zero-risk tasks as "filler". That just makes it a boring cost before you can get back to the real action. But if the reward is decent, you're stuck doing it even if the difficultly and engagement are trivial. For me, fighting the T15 bosses for the crafting ingredients involved spending about 50% of the time at loading screens, and 45% of the time walking. Yeah, it's quick, but it's stupid - the boss died the second they were able to be hit. But I had to do it over and over if I wanted the new items.

That is very different from grinding for, say, True Legendaries, where I can still run it at a high enough difficultly that is a risk, and I still get decent XP/etc in the process.

But if you want to stick with your "grinding is the whole point" argument, then I guess you also feel the "boosted tiers" for rifts was a terrible idea and we should all slog for hours through rift tier 1-300 when you can easily do 400+...

I think it would be a lot less frustrating if you could choose the boss. Having to do more than 50 clears feels really bad (or 25 since t15 drops 2)
getting science man 6 times in a row feels real bad

Sounds like the issue is more related to characters that are already far more powerful than the start of the DLC is balanced around. Start a new character and when you first reach that point doing the content is likely challenging and rewarding, no more so a grind/tedium than leveling through early mythics and getting runes and the normal drops for your build.

Last time it was the archdruid I was never finding, this time with another character it's the worm. I have to agree with OP, choosing your boss should be a minimum. Or having a three materials for one recipe or something.
