Recycled from relics space marine?
Okay so I've been watching random streams of this for a while now and it's pretty shocking at how much recycled content this game uses from relics space marine. So much of the game is similar. All the animations, camera control, how melee and guns handle are straight from space marine. Are these placeholders or do they seriously intend to reuse these assets?

I loved space marine but I can't get myself to rebuy the game at a $40 price tag. Yes I know the game is early access and a lot of more rpgish elements will be added later down the road basically making this its own game but in it's current state it's Space Marine 1.5. I'm not sure if you can even call it 1.5 currently because of the lack of pve.
Anyway, thoughts, opinions?

I'm pretty sure Sega didn't share their Assets from SM, since they own it.. and it would be criminal to use them without permission which they wouldnt give.

Those are not reused, they all done from scratch. You can find and watch some of the early developers stream on youtube.
Way that they are familiar is because Games Workshop is owning it and it all mast be done as much lorefriendly as it can, or it will never be licensed for a warhammer game

I don't know the whole story behind the contract but this was originally a THQ game. It may have been 100% tied to the GWS license and they have full rights to the assets are used.

I can understand being true GWS's vision but the similarities in gameplay are pretty stunning. The way the camera controls is identical to space marine in every way. Sure you can say that they are using space marines example as an artistic vision, but when the similarities to everything is so close and the history this game had with thq, it makes you think.

Why would GW Give BE..THQ/SEGA's Resources? Doesn't make sense if you consider the fact that THQ is GW most successful producer. Besides Space Marine was a very well polished game, if they gave their resources to BE we would be seeing a game that vastly further in development than this.

Nope, THQ was behind the long since closed Dark Millennium Online, which was a very different game

The last exile is correct also, if you do look at the super early videos of Eternal Crusade you can see how the Models/Animations have evolved since then.

What you talking about is an every TPS game classic structure. There's a lot of diffirences, mostly visible one is the melee

where is connection between similarities of Ethernal Crusede with Space Marine and lore?
plus space marine itself is goes against lore, they even removed Cato Sicarius as 2th company captain

The game doesn't reuse assets from Space Marine

If you're not comfortable supporting the devs this early in development, it's understandable and you should keep your money, but accept that others might be more willing to do so.

There, that should be the end of this entire thread.

If anything wish they fix that darn over the shoulder crap, never works good if you want a competive game. Either fix your darn camera or put in First Person mode. Nobody likes looking over their gun the whole time, unless you like it?

I don't know just doesn't feel right. I guess SOCOM and Lost Planet 2 killed that over the shoulder crap. I even hate Saints Row: The Third for it, but game is too dang funny not to like it. Stupid camera postion always ticking me off. Just move the darn thing over the head make everyone happy. No advantages from using over the shoulder, ever!!
