Already stuck, game breaking bug?

So I'm in the tobacco shop and have looked at everything there is to look at, have solved all the puzzle boxes, etc. I try to leave the store and it says there are unanswered questions and to use our little grey cells. I do that and of the 3 questions it asks, I've correctly placed the little icons into their slots and have gotten green lights on all 3 including "Is theft the motive of the crime?" to which it has answered "Theft is not the motive." Yet in my objectives list it still shows "Is theft the motive?" as unchecked and I can't leave the shop. Seem to be stuck and it appears to be because the game has not recognized yet that I've determined theft is not the motive. Any ideas?

have you looked at everything, including the window of the shop with the newspapers?

I finished the tabacco shop. I don't want to spoil you, if you not tell me to. Just look around you missed something important, there is no bug.

Had the same issue, restarted and it happened again, tried everything to make it work. I looked up a guide and saw that I had missed looking at the boarded up building, after talking to the police officer outside, and couldn't go back out to look at it because it wouldn't complete the grey cells part (it did not take me back to the game like the other two when they completed, no matter what I tried).

Had to restart for a third time, I looked at the boarded up building and the fruit stand and then went into the shop, I also completed the grey cells as soon as it was possible to do so (previously I waited until I had looked at everything in the shop and bedroom) and I was finally able to proceed past that point.

So you may have to restart and hopefully this will help as it was incredibly frustrating.

have u tried going to the menu and getting a hint. press nothing and poirot will go do what he needs to

My girlfriend it playing the game and it bugged about 4 or more times; At first she couldn't get out of the shop because the game wouldn't process that she did all the actions. She created a new profile and it bugged out in exactly the same place so we copied the savegame to my pc and the scene proceeded with no problems. I gave her back the save and then the game bugged when they got back to the office.
Reinstalled the game and now everything is smooth. Sometimes the solution can be very simple.

I had exactly the same issue, but I restarted the game & got past it. Now the next chapter has started in Poirot's flat and there is no mouse pointer or dialogue. I had this earlier in the game and reloading fixed it, but it isn't helping this time. Seems like a good game but the number of bugs is ridiculous.
