Egg ball never spawns and boss achievements

I got up to the egg ball, and no matter what area I choose it never drops in, leaving me in a softlock. I also got the achievement for defeating the first boss, but never received one for any subsequent boss.

Hits should be...

... counted differently. I find it kinda annoying that coins and hits count in the same metric. It makes it basically impossible to know how often one hit the ball in a row especially when there are multipliers going on. Having a third metric that only counts hits would be nice....
